Her Story

From Magnolia, Mississippi to the Forefront of Justice

Letitia S. Johnson was born in Magnolia, Mississippi and has spent her entire life — and her entire legal career — in service to the people of her home state. She is the Managing Partner of the Southeastern Region at Singleton Schreiber Injury Attorneys, where she leads the Civil Rights, Environmental Litigation, Personal Injury, and Mass Torts practice groups.

A Presidential Scholar, she graduated cum laude from Tougaloo College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1996. She earned her law degree from Mississippi College School of Law in 2006, where she served as President and Regional Representative of the Black Law Student Association and received the prestigious R. Jess Brown Scholarship.

Her 15+ years of legal experience span a remarkable range of service: Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Mississippi, Monitoring Consultant for the Mississippi Department of Human Resources, staff attorney for a Standing Chapter 13 Trustee, and seven years as a sole practitioner managing her own Jackson-based firm.

Today, her primary legal focus is combating environmental racism — pursuing justice and remediation from corporations that place chemical plants, factory farms, public landfills, and hazardous waste disposal sites in minority and marginalized communities across Mississippi and the Southeast. She also represents individuals in personal injury and medical malpractice cases.

Beyond the courtroom, Letitia's commitment to Mississippi runs deep. She is a past president and member of the Jackson Public School Board of Trustees, a 15-year devoted member and former officer of the Jackson Chapter of The Links, Inc., and a proud member of the Magnolia Bar Association, National Association of Chapter Thirteen Trustees, Society of Women Trial Lawyers, Mississippi Association for Justice, and the AAJ Data Center Litigation Group, where she serves as co-chair.

In 2024, she ran for Mississippi State Senate, District 26 — further demonstrating her dedication to public service and her community.

"My work is more than a profession. It's a calling rooted in my Mississippi upbringing, guided by a belief in justice, and driven by the people I serve."

Proud Partner at Singleton Schreiber Injury Attorneys

Singleton Schreiber is one of the nation's premier plaintiffs' law firms, with offices across the country and a reputation for taking on the cases others won't — including environmental litigation, mass torts, personal injury, and wildfire cases throughout Mississippi and the Southeast.

"
"I'm proud to join a firm that is focused on helping those with no one else to turn to. Right now, the financial impact on communities of color from environmental disasters is appalling. Corporations are turning a blind eye to the higher risks of cancer and disease these folks are facing, and together we're determined to put a stop to that."
